Isshin-ryu Karate-do Shodan Test

James Montgomery and Raul Jennings tested for Shodan, (1st degree Black Belt) on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Both James and Raul are over sixty years old, and are our most consistent, and hard working students.

We were honored to have in attendance to sit on our Promotion Board; Sensei John Ingram, Ku Dan, (9th Degree Black Belt) and Director of the World United Isshinryu Karate Association, (WUIKA), Sensei Cindy Ingram, Hachi Dan, (8th Degree Black Belt) and WUIKA Secretary, Sensei Robert Freitag Shichi Dan, (7th degree Black Belt), and Sensei Gina Dennis YonDan, (4th degree Black Belt).

James and Raul performed well, and worked hard from the moment they stepped on the mat, until the test was completed. Everyone in attendance was impressed with their physical skills, as well as their determination, and stamina. Their consistent hard work, and commitment to training and helping other students is an inspiration for us all, and exemplifies what the traditional Martial Arts are all about.

On behalf of all of us at the Seibukan Dojo, we wish to congratulate James and Raul on a job well done. We would also like to express our gratitude, and thank our friends and Sensei, John, Cindy, Robert, and Gina for another great visit. The hard training, quality teaching, and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks for the 2019 WUIKA/Tokushinryu Gasshuku & Shiai.
